The Initial Public Offer (IPO) of Tigere REIT in Zimbabwe
On the 28th October 2022 Tigere Property Fund (Tigere REIT), a duly registered Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) in terms of a Notarial Deed of Trust registered and established in terms of the laws of Zimbabwe issued its initial public offer (IPO) to sell its REIT units to the investing public.
The IPO of the Tigere REIT marked an important step in the economic growth of Zimbabwe from a real estate perspective. The purpose of the listing of the Tigere REIT on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE) was to attract focused and permanent capital for the development of real estate property. The Tigere REIT provides its retail and institutional investors an opportunity to stimulate the growth of the economy through infrastructure development and job creation.
With the launch of the REITs Association of Zimbabwe, it is likely that more promoters are going to become establish REITs in Zimbabwe which will undoubtedly see the improvement in quality of commercial, industrial and retail properties in Zimbabwe.
