Notarization of minor travel consent form for travel outside of Zimbabwe

In order to be able to travel to certain jurisdictions whether for holiday, a school trip or any other purpose, different jurisdictions have different rules and regulations with regards to minor children. More often than not customs and or immigration officials together with airline officials may require a travel consent form for a minor. It is thus important to not only have the child’s birth certificate ready, but to also have a notarised travel consent form for purposes of travel outside of Zimbabwe.

Due to the fact, that the practice of notarization is not yet digital in Zimbabwe, one would need to appear before a notary public and notarize a travel consent form before traveling with a minor. The essential requirements to prepare and draft a minor travel consent form include the name of the parent(s) and/or legal guardian, the date of travel, the means of travel, the duration of the minor’s stay at the destination, and details of the person accompanying the minor.
