PUBLIC PROCUREMENT
There are different methods of public procurement in Zimbabwe. Section 30 of the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act [Chapter 22:23] (the PPDPA Act) provides that in Zimbabwe all procuring entities should adopt and employ a competitive method of procurement.
This, however, is not the only recognized method of public procurement in Zimbabwe. The other procurement methods which include:
When a procurement method other than competitive bidding is adopted by a procuring entity in Zimbabwe, the procuring entity has an obligation to include in the record of the procurement proceedings a written justification of the decision to adopt such other procurement method, including the grounds for taking such a decision.
