What are the consequences of an annulment of marriage in Zimbabwe?
The annulment of a marriage in Zimbabwe renders the purported marriage null and void. Put differently, the nullification i.e., annulment of a marriage in Zimbabwe renders the purported marriage a total nullity and produces none of the legal consequences of a legal or valid marriage.
What happens to children born out of a voidable marriage in Zimbabwe?
Where a decree of nullity i.e., annulment has been granted by the High Court in respect of a voidable marriage, any child who would have been the legitimate child of the marriage if it had been dissolved instead of being annulled, at the date of decree, is deemed to be a legitimate child notwithstanding the annulment.
